Because of ignorance about AIDS and poverty, condoms are used more than once, children are sexually abused, and their heads are cut off as a healing ritual (in illustrations and writings). This work also shows how Ugandans are trying to emulate the West, with distorted effects on society's development; e.g. men who carry cell phones but fail to bathe. Africa is presented as a crawling baby, lost among adults. Drawings and text. Of note: In this work, a Ugandan artist highlights the problems of his country while also criticizing contemporary art, a world he feels is dominated by Western mores.
