REACTOR
Artworks of the graduate students of Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon, at Fabrica Features Lisboa
When: 13 October, 2007 Where: Fabrica Features Lisbon What: Exhibition
An exhibition of the research works of the design students of the University of Lisbon, faculty of Communication Design, will be on show, from October 13th to November 15th, at Fabrica Features Lisboa, a space inspired and created by Fabrica, the Benetton creative lab based in Italy, that gathers young artists from different parts of the world to develop communication projects through design, video, photography and interactive media.
Fabrica Features Lisboa, a satellite “reactor” for Fabrica, that celebrates its 7th years in Lisbon, will interact with local artists, and for the first time, in association with a national institution.
The show, REACTOR, proposes an integrated view of the design process as an open/evolving system of relations and reactions to a social and cultural context. As the culmination of the communication design course at FBAUL, students present their visions about design values, ideas and practice, raising questions about identity and sustainability, and proposing different kinds of mediation and intervention. Through diverse communication processes, these design projects test the structuring of content and the possibilities of interaction for the construction of meaning. Ranging from print to web to interactive, these works are visually represented in contextual relationship with their concepts and references, providing insightful views of contemporary design issues, that are extended to an online platform under the theme of (inter)activism (http://www.plataformacomum.net/).
Fabrica Features, as a satellite for inspiration, expression and communication, is proud to present and support this overview of emerging Portuguese designers.
