Lecture by Tommaso Labranca
When: 26 April, 2005 Where: Fabrica, Auditorium, 6:00 p.m. What: Lecture
Tommaso Labranca was born in Milan in 1962. Following on from his 80s creative stage, in 1991 he produced ten issues of “Trashware” a ‘zine with which he began to develop his interest in a specific human behaviour: ‘emulationism’. From that idea sprang books on trash (“Andy Warhol era un coatto”), on the baroque Brianza dialect (“Estasi del pecoreccio”), on slovenliness (“Chaltron Hescon”) and about the new urban masses (“Neoproletariato”). Torn between intellectual research and a weakness for the sirens of pop he also wrote a hagiography about Orietta Berti (“La vita secondo Orietta”) and an in-depth analysis on the stereotypes in Big Brother (“Grazie Fratello” with Dea Verna). In May his translation-adaptation of the manual “Metrosexual” by Michael Flocker (Sperling & Kupfer) is due for release. He is currently finishing “Late nite cappuccino”. He also writes for television and has worked on several shows including “Anima mia”, “Com’č”, “Anni novanta” and “Galatea”, now being shown on RaiDue.
