Edward Carey was born in 1970 in England. He is the author of two novels "Observatory Mansions" and "Alva and Irva". He is also an illustrator and sculptor and has illustrated his own books. He has written several adaptations for the stage, including Patrick Suskind's “The Pigeon” and Robert Coover's “Pinocchio in Venice”, and has recently finished a free adaptation of “The Pickwick Papers”. His own plays have been produced in London, Romania and Lithuania and he is currently working on a project with the English puppet company Faulty Optic whilst at the same time completing his third novel (which will include seven different sculptures to illustrate the text). His books have been published in thirteen countries.
