LIQUID LIGHTS
a pirex lamps collection designed by Fabrica for Metalarte

Date: 15 April, 2005

This is the story of an experiment with very positive results.

The collection originated from a one day workshop with glass master Massimo Lunardon and has resulted in the meeting between creativity at its purest state-a group of young designers from Fabrica-and high quality craftsmanship. The initiative also took entrepreneurial courage. The final result is a collection of unique lamps, which without precedents, is designed and produced from scratch without moulds or technical preparation. Each lamp is an entirely unique piece.

The project bears Fabrica’s trademark but has reached the market through the Spanish company Metalarte. They are investing widely in emerging designers, and have developed the Liquid Lights collection keeping the magic of a hand-made product and the flavor of a work of art that each individual lamp brings with it.

This adventure would have never been possible without the genius and ability of Massimo Lunardon. While blowing the glass he manages to turn each piece into something precious and unique while respecting the intuition and sensibility of the person who conceived and designed it.

The eight piece collection is already in production and holds the signatures of designers Pedro Ferreira and Rita Joćo from Portugal, Brunno Jahara from Brazil, Sandra Bautista from Spain and Masahiro Fukuyama from Japan.
