Namiko Kitaura was born in Tokyo in 1977. Following her experience as a freelance photographer in London, Tokyo, now she is an artist in resident in Italy at Fabrica, the Benetton research centre. The implied Romanticism of her works is absolute and relates to the psychological aspect of human condition. The images give the viewer the opportunity to explore their beauty within the transience, ambiguity and gentle melancholy. Her focus is to visualise those aspects of the almost invisible human condition that is behind appearance: passion in depression, comfort in sadness, tranquillity in chaos and beauty in ugliness.
