A short film by Godfrey Reggio that shows children’s eyes as they watch television. Watching television is an activity whose psychological aspects have been deeply analyzed in the current controversy that surrounds the appliance’s use. Despite the fact that these children are involved in a daily activity such as watching TV, they seem to be drugged and bewildered like patients in a psychiatric hospital.
The film is a sequence of full close-ups of their faces in a series of imperceptible variations of their emotional state, accompanied by equally dramatic and effective music by Philip Glass. Godfrey Reggio was Fabrica’s first Art Director and he made an important contribution to the center’s philosophy and vision.
