Zachary Swenson, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, on October 27th 1978. While studying at Georgia Tech, in Atlanta, Georgia, he worked as writer for various magazines and was a drummer in an experimental rock band. He also worked as a prep cook, door-to-door salesman, waiter, pharmacist, engineer, chemist, video cameraman, hotel attendant, grocery bagger, soccer referee, librarian, gardener, cinema cashier, and photographer.
After graduating in 2003, he moved from the US to Turin, Italy, where he worked as a freelance photographer. During this time he developed various projects, including the exhibition “Scatti d’Autore”, which was an artistic documentation of agricultural life that was displayed in the National Museum of Automobiles, “The Langhe”, which was a commercial photo documentation of the famous wine region of Piedmonte, and “a river down by”, a series of fragmented photos inspired by the Po river.
He is presently an artist in residence at Fabrica, the communication research center of Benetton, based in Treviso, Italy.
