LIMITLESS : PIEMONTE_SHARE_FESTIVAL | TORINO, 8 - 12 MARCH 2006
The most important date with Italian art, digital culture and new media is back, with its second edition. PIEMONTE_SHARE_2006 runs parallel with the XX Winter Olympic Games in Turin 2006 and kicks off during the Paralympics with the theme "Limitless": breaking down the barriers.
In the information technology society, this theme represents many sides of the intellectual challenge that animates technological research. In digital culture, these issues represent two sides to the intellectual challenge that animates technological research. Distant transmissions, virtual reality, intelligent environments, but also open source, managing copyright/copyleft, and Creative Commons - these are technology and legal issues that we are still learning to live with. They have been designed to overcome the time and space dimension, the physical aspect, body limits, the digital divide, but they also lead to the problem of sharing knowledge with Third World countries and debates on the social and political aspects that the digital culture inevitably brings with it.
But don’t these challenges of breaking down barriers also include the passion of sport? Technology and sport both move with the aim of increasing our chances of succeeding in what we do, by overcoming all physical and mental barriers. In fact, opposition due to dull or heavy bodies.
