Are The Italian's Really Stallions?

Ummmmm, no according to Durex's latest study! Apparently the real stallions are the Nigerians who on average last 24 minutes, most impressive compared to Indians averaging a mere 13 minutes! Check out the rest of the article here not all countries are included but its worth a quick glance over to see which country would be worth locating to after here! Seems the Italians are not so hot ....eeeek time to leave people!

Via Cosimo the true Italian stallion! wink.

I felt the need to post again about anorexia after the huge amount of comments I received from a previous post. I wrote about the photographic work of Lauren Greenfield and her documentation of anorexia sufferers. The above images are from her THIN exhibition and as you can see this is a devastating condition to suffer from. I had no idea how many people would respond to it and I am truly overwhelmed by the honesty of everyone who wrote and continues to write. It saddens me so much to hear other's stories but I'm thrilled the blog could provide an outlet for you.

As some of you may know I also suffered for a long time from an eating disorder. After years of battling I have now fully recovered and i'm stronger than ever which is partly why I made the post, to help others out there who suffer. I just wanted to make sure that for those of you who did make comments and asked for help please do contact me at piaknight@gmail.com I am more than happy to try to help you in any way I can. I'm not medically qualified obviously but I do understand the emotional side having suffered myself. Support is the key to recovery and I'm lucky enough that I was able to receive a lot of it. So please if you come across this site and need help let me know.

Have a good day. Pia

2 holes are better than 1

I've not posted for a while, been a bit busy but after visiting Milan this weekend for the design Furniture Fair I found a gem of a post. Salt and pepper vibrators by designer of things Steve Watson. What a great center piece for any dinner table and the holder sets the pots just as nature intended! A perfect combination of sex and food. I don't need to say any more about them, I feel the design speaks for itself. Check out his other works here.

Sebastian Horsley

Some of you have probably already heard of Sebastian Horsley but if you haven't I strongly recommend you learn a little about him today. I just did. He is a fascinating artist who uses "method" painting which means he basically lives and breathes his subjects before painting. He is the first westerner to travel to the Philippines to be crucified and he documented it all in the name of art, its incredible check it out here.

But he also has another dark side, he is addicted to sleeping with prostitutes and claims to have been with over 1000. If you saw this months Creative Review you will understand the image above, if not you can read more about it here on CR blog. But, for me the most fascinating article was by the Observer, it starts like this .....

I remember the first time I had sex - I still have the receipt. The girl was alive, as far as I could tell, she was warm and she was better than nothing. She cost me £20.

I was 16 then and I'm 41 now. I have spent 25 years throwing my money and heart at tarts. I have slept with every nationality in every position in every country. From high-class call girls at £1,000 a pop to the meat-rack girls of Soho at £15, I have probably slept with more than 1,000 prostitutes, at a cost of £100,000.

Need I say much more? Its fascinating he's such an interesting character and I'm off to discover more about him now.

Natures Porn

nature porn.jpg

Yesterday Matt told me the p-spot was getting less and less sexual which I had to completely agree with. I guess it has been because I have been spending my days surfing endless design blogs and discovering so much interesting design instead of sexual things! So I'm making up for the lack of sexual content by posting some natural porn i received in an email this morning! Racey enough for you Prinns?

NYC Condoms

NYC .jpg

On February 14th 2007 New York City launched the free NYC branded condoms. It is the first nation with an official brand of condoms and they are available all over the city for individuals and organizations. With the help of a new internet ordering system they have increased the distribution of free condoms from 2.5 million per year to 18 million per year. That is a staggering amount to distribute so lets hope that with that volume of free condoms circulating the STI rates and unwanted pregnancies will dramatically be reduced. I'm so impressed by this fantastic scheme, it sets an example for other major cities worldwide to follow in the footsteps set by New Yorks Department of Health. Check it out here and if you're in the city go get yourself some from one of the distribution points here.

Little People

I'm a fan of most tiny cute things and this 'little people' blog by street artist Slinkachu is a favorite. He manipulates tiny shop bought figurines and places them in everyday city situations and photographs them. The idea behind this project was to capture the feelings of isolation and loneliness often associated with living in a city. The little people are then left to fend for themselves with only the most observant passers noticing them. Its such a simple idea for street art but can you imagine going to a toilet and finding this little guy snorting his huge wrap of coke? Wonderful art and I plan to return to London and keep my eyes peeled for these little people. A great blog with some really interesting images and scenarios on so go see it for yourself here.

Wooster Collective is a site dedicated to showcasing street art from all around the world. The above work is by artist Mike Newton who says "i noticed how the police would move the homeless from street to street, doorway to doorway around the town. this gave me the inspiration for my latest piece "removing me wont solve the problem" a kind of twist on the removal of graffiti." There is some great pieces on this site, check it out here.

I've just stumbled across this very interesting Canadian artist Brian Donnelly who I throughly recommend you check out. His paintings have a beautiful and fresh style and an amazing photo realism to them. On his site he even has a contest you can enter here. Well as he says its not so much of a contest as a dare to get a tattoo of one of his logo designs then if you can prove you've done it he'll send you an original painting! Ummm interesting contest to say the least! His photo pages also had me giggling behind my screen, this site definitely got my day off to a good start. Check out the wonderful works and character of Brian here.

Cheater Checker

My God i've just discovered the Cheater Checker and yes it does exactly as the name suggests! This program has been devised to install onto your computer and it spys and records all movements of the user so you can check out exactly what someone has been doing on it! It is legal to install onto your own computer but it is suspected that it is being installed onto others computers which is of course not legal but vital if you want to catch someone in the act of virtual cheating or worse!

It's crazy and personally I hate the product but as I well know you often have no idea if someone is cheating on you. But I leave you with this final and slightly cheesy thought as Elvis once said ... we can't go on together with suspicious minds! Listen to the King and don't dip down to the Cheater Checker but if you're interested check it out here.

Ooops that's three posts today, back to my real work now!

Reed passed me this article he found in National Geographic this month about singles in America. It may be of interest to some of you considering a relocation to the States after here. . . . so girls be smart and head west and boys get your asses to the east!

Single and looking? Lonely singles' chances of finding mates are influenced by which side of the Mississippi River they live on, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Western urban areas tend to boast an excess of single males, while the eastern cities feature a predominance of females. Demographers say a few key factors shape this trend; notably, 58 percent of college students are women, giving most of East's numerous college towns a female majority. After graduating, legions of these women join the white-collar workforce, which is 51 percent female and centered in big cities such as New York, Chicago and Washington, D.C. Areas with more single men often have large numbers of illegal immigrants, some 58 percent of whom are male and generally work either in districts that rely on agriculture or in cities with booming construction sectors, such as Las Vegas. - Peter Gwin

International Women's Day

This morning I was greeted by my dear Cosimo holding a wonderful bunch of mimosa (tiny yellow flowers) which they use here in Italy to mark International Womens Day. A day to celebrate women, how wonderful. I then had another lovely bunch of mimosa on my desk at work from Matteo who was celebrating all the women in our department. What lovely men we have here at Fabrica, so keen to honour and celebrate us girls. So I decided to invite another honourable man Mr Etter to guest write the p-spot today and tell us all about what womens day really means. So a big thanks to Chris and to all you lovely ladies out there have a wonderful womens day... over to you Chris:

Thanks Miss P... Being Swiss, I like to break down problems into neutral facts. And here they are:

Violence against women is the most common but least punished crime in the world.

It is estimated that between 113 million and 200 million women are demographically "missing." They have been the victims of infanticide (boys are preferred to girls) or have not received the same amount of food and medical attention as their brothers and fathers.

The number of women forced or sold into prostitution is estimated worldwide at anywhere between 700,000 and 4,000,000 per year. Profits from sex slavery are estimated at seven to twelve billion US dollars per year.

So today is valentines day, but for those of you who don't know February 14th is also VDay, something that is far worthier of celebrating. VDay was the realization of Eve Ensler the brainchild behind the Vagina Monologues. VDay was set up as a non profit movement dedicated to ending violence against women and girls. Since it began it has raised over 3 billion dollars for organizations fighting for women's rights. You can check out more about VDay and the global events that will be happening right here. If you understand Italian the Vagina Monologues will be performed in Udine, i've not seen it myself but I am desperate to, apparently its brilliant.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day and i'll see you for our romantic game of football this evening!
I love you all. Baci

With the impending Valentines day nearly upon us i thought i'd start checking out some little treats that the web has to offer us this year. Here is a very cute little card design I stumbled across by a husband and wife duo who call themselves youngandwithit. Great name and a really simple little card for your chosen loved one. They are hand screen printed and a very understated and beautiful way to say I love you, or ummm I love penguins! Either way check out their designs here.

After the cards featured on design*sponge they did actually sell out but youngandwithit are promising to print more so get your hands on them while you can.

Have a LOVEly day. mwahh

The Pee Spot

pee before1.jpg

This is a bit of a personal post but I felt it to be an important one to share. Recently I went and had a sexual health check up just to make sure I was ok down there, and thank goodness it was all in working order and infection free! But during the check up I did learn a very interesting tip which I wanted to share with you all.

Did you know that urinating before and after sexual intercouse can help to reduce the possibility of contracting a urinary tract infection (UTI). It doesn't help prevent other sexually transmitted infections (STI) but it's a good way to try to clean the tubes out after sex!

Obviously condoms are the ONLY way to fully protect yourself from infection but keeping this little tip in mind could mean avoiding a possible urine infection. I'm sure most of you know that lots of infections have no symptoms so it really is important for you to get regualr check ups. I know so many people who are too scared to go get checked out but surely it's far more devastating to find out years later that you are infertile becasue of an untreated infection? My dear mother sees people like this all the time and it is absolutely devasting. So if you haven't already, go get yourselves checked out and take it from me it's not scary and it doesn't hurt it just puts your mind at rest and allows you to sleep soundly at night, or not as the case may be if you're enjoying a happy and healthy sex life!

A big thanks to my buddy Natalie for perfectly drawing the vital parts and not being embarrassed when people walked past her screen!

Women's Aid

Women Aid.jpg

Grey London has produced this shockingly realsitic campaign for Women's Aid using a variety of British female celebrities. It's sad that we rely on celebrity endorsement these days but if it brings attention to the serious issues of domestice violence then it is absolutely worthwhile. The photos taken by Rankin are beautifully crisp and focus all the atention on the injuries. Hopefully this will be a sucessful campaign for Women's Aid and will encourage sufferers of domestic violence to admit the severity of the problem and seek help.

Yes that is the same university as myself and the other Brits here, what can I say they turn out the cream of the crop! Only teasing but you should check out her site, she has some really beautiful and incredibly feminin illustrations. She also has an identical twin sister with whom she set up Shiers Sisters clothing label in 2002 where she was creating print designs and brand identity. Most recently they designed a collection for Topshop Boutique.

This morning was the first time i'd seen snow falling in Treviso since living out here. Ok ok so it wasn't exactly snow more like 'sleet' as we say in England, but should there be a ground covering by tomorrow morning I will be hurrying to the nearest open space in the town and trying to construct my own snow penis like the one above. Pretty impressive I have to say, usually penises can't withstand the cold!

Coco de Mer

Coco de Mer is an erotic emporium in the heart of London's Covent Garden. It is owned by Sam Roddick, the daughter of Anita Roddick who is of course famed for The Body Shop. The shop has been open for about 3 years and is a wonderful erotic experience well worth a visit if you are in the city. I was there after it first opened and was beginning working with them on my nipple badges.

They have since designed one of the sexiest websites i've ever seen. The design details within it are beautiful and the items for sale are an absolute luxury. But this is not a sex shop for bargin hunters, a double ended vibrator retails at £800. Yes that is eight hundred english pounds! Maybe not the cheapest of christmas stocking fillers but if you want to invest in a seriously sexy sex toy this is the only place to go. Take a peek here. Enjoy it . . . .

Where babies come from

Once again i've Mr Purdy to thank for bringing this book to my attention. Just click here to see it and then click on each page and it will clearly show you exactly where babies come from, (just incase you didn't know).

I do actually remember the first book my mother gave to me about where babies came from. I spent hours staring at the illustration on the page where 'mummy and daddy get very close and have a special cuddle' The illustrations in this German book are wonderful and the special naked cuddle certainly does look special!

Acclaimed photographer Lauren Greenfield has turned her lens to eating disorders. She has produced her first feature length documentary on the struggles of young girls suffering from the condition in America. It has won several awards and i'm sure it will continue to grab more over time. Her other photographic work of 'Girl Culture' is amazing and beautifully captures a variety of different girls lifestyles. Check out her work and also the film preview here.

Is that your body clock ringing?

The Mitsubishi D702iF cellphone for NTT DoCoMo is the ultimate in female target marketing. It looks like an ordinary clamshell model but in fact it has a built in fertility cycle predictor to let you know when you're fertile and ready to conceive.

I have absolutely no idea how this works but having previously used Persona (a fertility prediction kit) which involved peeing onto a stick each morning, I can not believe that this would be the same technology used in a cellphone! Or at least I hope it isn't! You could really mess up the buttons by peeing on your phone each day!

Anyway it's an interesting concept and could be a vital for every girl's handbag. Just add a vibrator and some semen and you've got the complete package, no men required! Oh how simple our lives would be!

Have you ever swallowed sea water?

"A blue whale produces over 400 gallons of sperm when it ejaculates, but only 10% of that actually makes it into his mate. So 360 gallons are spilled into the water everytime one unloads.
You wondered why the ocean is so salty... Don't swallow the water!"

Clever dicks

the little ones.jpg

This week my little brother Kyle who lives in Portugal bought himself some baby ducks for 1€ each. I have been needing to control my maternal desires, which seem to be getting stronger as i'm getting older, so i've decided that i'm actually their auntie. Which in italian is Zia, so i'm now Zia Pia to these little ducks. I'm insanely proud, and possibly a little crazy!

Anyway I wanted an excuse to share them with everyone but thought somehow I have to relate it to sex, as that is what The P-Spot is all about. So I decided to google 'duck sex' and I managed to find some interesting facts about the Agentine male duck.

They have a penis as long as their body, which is like a cork screw! It also has a sort of brush on the end so it can clean out any other males sperm before he ejaculates inside the female, thus ensuring that it's his sperm that conceives.

Now what a clever dick that is hey!

Weird Animal Penises

I don't know what to say about this really, ummmm, maybe, just maybe it's worth consulting your doctor if your penis ever resembles one of these!

P-Spot Introduction

Supposedly, men think about sex once every 20 seconds. Pia talks about it almost as often. She’s not a sex-maniac, she’s just very comfortable discussing the topic. She thinks sex shouldn’t be such a taboo for us and is always directing the conversation towards interesting sexual topics. A lot of her design work has sexual connotations and raises awareness on different issues around sex and sexual health.

So we asked her to contribute a column of her own dealing with thoughts, facts and feelings relating to sex in all aspects of our lives. If you have any questions or comments for her feel free to write, she might respond, if she has the knowledge and if you aren’t just being a dick about it.

She is a bit dyslexic too so please be gentle with her; this is her first time (blog-wise, of course.)

Sex Dreams

Sex Dreams

I thought I could begin the P-Spot with the topic of sex dreams as it is something that I experienced only the other day. I’m never afraid to admit if I’ve had one and also I’m not embarrassed to admit that I’ve had dreams about colleagues and friends! It’s just strange sometimes trying to figure out exactly what those dreams mean as most of the time I’m not at all attracted to the people I’ve dreamt of. I’m sure most of you have had the same, whether you admit it or not is the question. I’m not about to reveal mine here either I’m simply raising the issue!

We dream because of the intense activity that is constantly going on in our subconscious minds. And since sex is one of the most powerful of all human drives, it's not surprising that so many dreams have a strong sexual content.
