From June 23rd to October 1st, 2006, the exhibition spaces of the Galleria Civica will be transformed into a cinematographic set, and among the lights, videocamera and microphones, the spectators will find a place of action and production rather than of contemplation. The project, conceived by ZimmerFreiand “staged” together with Marinella Senatore, will convert the Galleria into a studio where screenplays, casting calls and story-boards will be developed; scenes will be shot and edited; post-recordings and mixes will be created… not necessarily to obtain celluloid films, but true artist videos.
Therefore, the entire initiative will have a sort of duality: on one side, various artists will publicly create films, while on the other, the Galleria will become a meeting place and experimentation space for a broader public. For a various months, the exhibition rooms will be an environment animated with common encounters, as well as spaces appointed to artistic creation, to places of exchange between citizens and the art world.
