Fabrica Insider News, episode one
Fabrica Insider News, episode one
It seems that every other week I introduce a new bit to this blog that I think may or may not happen regularly, this is one of those bit. If you find this blog inconsistent and unprofessional, it is all done in the name of 'communication research', whatever that is supposed to mean. I woke up this morning and thought we are seriously missing an insider-gossip column, so here we go:
Most of the borsisti seem to have arrived back at Fabrica after ferragosto, but no, it's 9 days later and we still haven't gotten our stipend for the month of August. There are minor complaints amongst the students, but no further damaging stories besides the couple who were stuck in Puglia and couldn't pay for their B&B. We've resorted to cooking dinner for each other in these difficult times.
Yang, a designer from China, up and left Fabrica unexpectedly yesterday though it comes as no surprise to anyone seeing that he was so unhappy here in the first place. Good luck Yang, we hope it all works out for you and we're sorry we didn't say good bye properly.
Work has somewhat resume, with no sense of urgency, but it's looming in the back of our heads as the big show at the Pompidou is to take place in one month's time. No one wants to think about the immediate future just yet. And some bosses haven't arrived back from holidays.
Grisha, our German graphic designer went camping in Scottland and was infected by ticks and is now resting in the hospital due to blood poisoning, reportedly he wasn't able to move some parts of his body. Get well soon, Grish, we miss you.
Besides Grisha, everybody else seems be getting some kind of fever around here. Not sure if it's post-vacation blues or just the change in the weather.
Mensa (our cafeteria) continues to put out not-so-desired lunch choices, we're hoping that it will only last until all the Italians get back to normal work operation. This could also mean that our server will stop going down so frequently because the Bentec people (tech guys) will be back at work.
Because it's early in the game, we have no reports of who's-hooking-up-with-who just yet. Juliana, our writer from Singapore will be making her departure at the end of this week, so don't forget to give her goodbye kisses!!
Thank you for tuning into Fabrica Insider News (FIN), stay tune for next episode, and don't forget to share your gossips.
