Phoebe Mutetsi has entered the building

In the writing department there is a wooden tripod seat from Africa. Settle into it and say a jambo to Phoebe, a new addition to the writing dept.

How did you come to learn about fabrica?
It was an email; a friend, well a collegue, had received it from a friend of his who had recieved it from a friend of his whose friend had received it... Any way; he forwarded it to me and I immediately typed an e-mail to the reply-to address (Benjamin and Cosimo). Benjamin later phoned me and it was after this phone call that I started to try and learn about Fabrica ( a big shout out to Google!)

What have you been doing before?
I was working as freelance journalist and a sometimes-writer at a newspaper in Uganda called Dialy Monitor.

What do you expect to get out of this experience?
I am without expectations. Generally. But I hope to see what this experience gets out of me.

What will you miss from home?
My bed. I already miss my bed at home, and my two young cousins Jason and Zoe.

Anything else you would like to share with us?
Hmn. Barbara insists that i tell the story of how I almost didn't come to Fabrica- after I had been accepted and all. Well, I had this 3month long passport drama back in Uganda. I couldn't get a Ugandan passport. Something about what I am and what I am not entitled to as a great-grandchild of an immigrant in that country. So I had to retrace my ancestry and go get the passport in Rwanda. And two months later, I am here as a Rwandan from Uganda. Officially.
